Giltrap Ag is a family owned business with a long history of innovation in the design and manufacturing of high quality agricultural machinery sold both domestically and internationally under the Giltrap and Duncan brands.
An opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced Materials Manager to join our team in Timaru to lead our ongoing focus on best practice in inventory purchasing, management and control.
The ideal candidate will :
Have experience in a purchasing/inventory control role preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Have proven experience in negotiating with & managing key supplier relationships
Be experienced in dealing with overseas suppliers & managing international freight logistics
Demonstrate an ability to work closely with the production team to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials for production
Be leading a small inventory logistics team
Have a high level of Microsoft Word and Excel computer skills. Previous experience in using manufacturing / production (ERP) systems would be an advantage
Continuously develop and refine process improvement initiatives
This is a busy, challenging role which will suit a person demonstrating all of the following characteristics:
Good organisational and communication skills
An ability to multi task & prioritise work requirements to meet agreed deadlines
Adaptable and self motivated with an ability to think on your feet
Tidy and accurate in your work with good numerical skills and attention to detail.
Proven ability to build good work relationships with suppliers, customers and work colleagues.
